As part of the “run for the border”, I stopped at my favourite North American pie company, after overnighting in Williamsport.
Not only were there excellent pasty&chips, but also real cups of tea. After 3 weeks of asking for tea and being given sweet, cold liquid with ice cubes, including at a Chinese restaurant, this was a welcome bonus. Maybe if those chaps in Boston had not been so hasty, those many years ago…….. 🙂
With a hearty and welcome brunch, plus an even more welcome defrosting, the gods enabled me to ride home. Temperatures were around the 3degC all day, with some gusting winds.
NOTE: There was NOT A SHRED of evidence of the 6 feet of snow that enveloped the pie location. Buffalo had a HUGE amount of snow in a small zone. The pie company was in that small zone. A bobcat was brought in to clear the snow from the building, especially the large picture windows. The bobcat gave valiant service, as evidenced by it’s broken axle.
