A lot of people think that ethanol is green.

For those of us who watched the TV programme or read the magazine Top Gear, we heard otherwise.
And Popular Mechanics supports the issues raised. Overheating engines, dissolved plastic parts and ruined rubber. And that is before you store the gasoline.

My experience.
On half a tank of pure gasoline, the motorcycle will cover 180km+. With 10% ethanol, only 150km. A 17% reduction in mileage.
So where is the green effect of ethanol?

Luckily in Canada we have Shell, Esso and Canadian Tire who provide ethanol-free premium gasoline, across the country.

PS: My thanks to Fast Stop in Forrest, Illinois who’s fuel enabled me to arrive at my Springfield motel this night. A neat, 24hr, gas station, that can accept Canadian plastic! Thank you 🙂
