Wednesday at Graceland

Up to find still raining.
But a short walk to Sun Studio, and breakfast 🙂
Really interesting tour. Fun and informative.

Sun Studios provides a free shuttle to Graceland, so off I went. Met Andrew from Oz on the bus. Used to play Aussie Rules football, so obviously a maniac. Still fit, as trains the trainers.

At Graceland, they provide a bus to take you from the ticketing area to the mansion. A very, very short trip, but I guess it allows them to control the numbers of people at the house.

The house was like a step back into the 70’s. Flashback!!!
Warning. The self-guided tour on the iPad, needed a bit of prompting, if you moved quickly.
My best advice, “Ask questions”. Docents will answer, or call up someone who can. Made for some fun conversations 🙂
And make sure that you visit the aircraft and automotive areas. Gives you another look at the impact Elvis had, aside from the gazillion gold records, trophies and awards.

For those of us from Canada, remember, Canada is the only country that Elvis visited and gave concerts at. Back in 1957.

Things I did not know?
– Lisa Presley owns the mansion.
– Elvis had a Stutz

The Sun Studio shuttle dropped me back downtown, where I went off to Rendezvous for ribs. They were OK. I think I prefer the ones from Swiss Chalet !

Popped into Peabody’s on the way home for a duck. One from the hotel that you can eat. See below…….

……along with a cup of tea 🙂

And the rain has stopped. Will be time to head out tomorrow.
