Up with the alarm on a Monday morning, and made a call to the Harris ferry. No sign of the ticket. Received confirmation of my booking, and corrected my email address.
No luck with reducing my nights stay in Inverness. Had booked three, but the Harris ferry was booked solid on Monday so have to go Sunday. Mind, this is much better then having two nights and needing three 🙂
With that happy thought, I packed, the bike.
Popped over to my Friday breakfast place.
Strolled as far as St. Mary’s cathedral. Nice place.
No cabs to be hailed, so called one up.
Don’t really fancy a walk up the hill. Not even in the sun. The aftermath of the cold is that I feel really tired. Luckily I only have to ride to Perth today.
Why Perth?

Called the ferry company again. Another typo in my name! Anyone would think it is difficult to spell. ha. I could spell it when I was 4yrs old.
This time the email arrived 🙂 Harris here I come.
Finished my chores.
Back to the accommodation.
Rode out.
Perfect day. 20degC. Blue skies. Tad blustery.
Out past Murrayfield.
Soon I was in Perth……
Nice place.
I was there in a January evening whilst waiting for a train, and remember it as a grey place. Much nicer impression today.
Found a couple of laundrettes.
First insists on doing the laundry for you. That’s how my OR bag was ruined. They were cool about my wanting to do my own laundry.
Second closes at 5pm, so I have to come back tomorrow. Good chat 🙂
Popped into the museum, for a lightening guided tour 🙂
Then over to tourist information, for hints on where to go for supper.
Whilst touring, found Banks,
a great outdoor shop. Really.
Then ended up at Small Talk, for a proper cup of tea.
Then properly refreshed, walked to Breizh for supper……
The evening ended at The Green Room, where there were real beers and good people.
How good a time did I have? I was giving piano lessons! hahahahaha
And then to bed, for an early night. Feeling as if the beer helped clean out the last of the cold 🙂
Laundry, Balmoral then the Aberdeen ferry to the Shetlands, on Tuesday.
