Some so-so gulaschsuppe on the ferry from Denmark to Germany. Had skipped breakfast, so was needing something. And this soup filled the need.

Once off the boat, was a short run into Lubeck.

Hotel was easy to find. Right next door to the banhof (railway station).
Unpacked.
TLC for the bike. Left it at the hotel’s back door.

Then out on a cloudy, but sunny afternoon.
First things, first. Marzipan!
Had directions from the receptionist, and found this cafe……

where I partook of a cup of tea……

Note the marzipan slab 🙂

More walkabout to the northern tip of the old town. Some tall ships in port.
Then onto the “potato cellar”. Nice potato soup……

I sat outside with a nice view of the church. Then took a look downstairs. The cellar goes on and on. Lots of pretty rooms.

Took a walk south. Found a really clever fountain. The second of the day.
Someone really understands water, here in Lubeck.

Chinese for supper……

Great stock. Noodles out of a packet, though the menu promises fresh.

Back home, watched a bit of footie. TorontoFC beating Montreal. Who would have thunk that. Giovinco knocking in a brilliant free-kick. He is the stand-out player on TorontoFC.

And happily fell asleep.
