Saturday, November 26

I blogged about the Holodomor a couple of years ago. Back then it seemed to be piece of history, to be remembered, so as never to be repeated. Seems so much more now, as Russia continues to demolish civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.

For today, we are asked to remember the millions of Ukrainians starved to death, by doing one or all of the following:
● At 19:32 (7:32 p.m.) local time, pause for a moment of silence wherever one may be to honour the memory of the victims
● Light a candle of remembrance in one’s home.
● Post photos of your candles on social media with your thoughts of remembrance.
● Request local churches to toll their bells at 19:32 in honour of the victims.

Sunday, November 27th, there will be church services in our Ukrainian parishes.

You can hear the president of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, our Prime Minister, and other leading politicians on the holodomor memorial day (and the current war) here……
